Many people who take refuge in our country in pursuit of safety after having suffered violence in their own country, find themselves caught in particularly difficult predicaments. In addition, the disconcerting phenomenon of increasingly more cases of racial violence and the lack of support services call for our attention, on the occasion of the World Refugee Day, to be focused this year on these population groups.

The Event’s Agenda:

From 6:00pm  to 8:00 pm.:  Views on specific matters related to victims of torture and racial violence, presented by:

Greek Council for Refugees: Mr. Vasileios Kerasiotis, and Mr. Spyros Koulocheris, lawyers at the Legal Service of the Greek Council for Refugees: “Legal framework and the work of GCR through its Programs conducted for the purpose of providing legal protection and support to victims of torture and racial violence”.

Médecins du Monde: Mr. Anastasios Yfantis, social worker: “Enough Project: Combating xenophobia / Defending refugees and victims of racist attacks and providing access to health services.

Day Center Babel (Unit of Mental Health for Refugees): Mr. Nikolaos Gkionakis, Psychologist, Scientific Head of the Center: “Psychological Effects of Torture“.
