To implement and support the medical intervention, MdM created:
– A health center catering to 200 to 300 patients per day;
– A field hospital with 15 big tents, each tent containing three beds with a total of 45 beds. Injured and postoperative patients (eg, newborns, dehydrated children and other cases) are brought from regional hospitals and from the MdM health center.
Doctors of the World have sent a total of 22 tons of medical supplies which includes enough medicine to treat 30,000 patients. Apart from MdM-Greece, there are five MdM delegations from France, Canada, Portugal, Switzerland and Spain in Haiti. The objective of MDM is to continue providing humanitarian aid in the coming months.
