New treatments for hepatitis C, a great hope for people infected with HCV, but accessible for how many?

Publication of a study on strategies for achieving universal access to HCV treatments
“We are witnessing a revolution in the treatment of hepatitis C virus with powerful molecules capable of curing the infection. There is no question that these treatments that can save millions of lives must be made universally available at an affordable price.”

Syria: Three years of war and horror is more than enough!

(Paris, 13th March 2014) Doctors of the World – Médecins du Monde (MdM) has been working in Syria since the start of the conflict, both inside the country and at its borders. We have seen for ourselves that the situation is worsening and that a “red line” has long been crossed.

SYRIA | Today, only the bombs have access to the people

More than 70,000 people have been killed, 1.8 million are refugees and 4 million more are internally displaced. There have been summary executions, civilian populations held hostage, hospitals bombed and health workers arrested, tortured and executed.

Doctors of the World in Mali

While fighting intensifies, we stand alongside the people of Mali
The situation in northern Mali, as in the whole country, has deteriorated sharply in recent days, with the resumption of hostilities and bombing of several localities. The teams of Doctors of the World wish to stand alongside the people despite the more difficult working conditions.

Providing care in Syria and at the borders

Bearing witness to suffering
Monday, 10 December 2012 – International Human Rights Day
Twenty-one months after the start of the Syrian revolution, violence against civilians continues and the death toll now stands at more than 40,000 dead. To assist displaced people and treat the wounded, in October Doctors of the World – Médecins du Monde (MdM) opened an emergency programme in the camp in Qah in north western Syria.
