Médecins du Monde / Doctors of the World sends 15 tons of equipment.

Violent aftershocks have shaken Nepal and the capital Kathmandu again on Sunday. The area was already severely affected in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that left nearly 2,400 dead. Médecins du Monde / Doctors of the World sends medical supplies and an enhanced team to rescue the victims.

“The information we receive confirms a high level of destruction. The coming hours are crucial, hospitals are overwhelmed, we must act quickly”, says Gilbert Potter, Director of International Operations of Doctors of the World.

Doctors of the World, in partnership with Solidarités International, sent an emergency team of 12 people consisting of medical (surgeons, anesthetists, nurses) and logisticians.
The organization will also send 15 to 20 tons of material (surgery kits, natural disaster kits) to best meet the needs of the Nepalese people.
