On June 23rd & 24th, KETHEA-PAREMVASI participates in the Youth Festival of Municipality of Pallini. From 25th to 27th of June KETHEA-PAREMVASI teams up with Médecins du Monde and together they realize activities geared towards approaching drug users on the streets and providing immediate psychosocial support. As part of these activities medical care will also be provided by Médecins du Monde team.

The problems faced by drug addicts and their families are becoming even more acute due to adverse economic and social circumstances. The threat of a substance abuse epidemic as well as the threat of intensity increase of social isolation mechanisms looms.

We support the most vulnerable people and those who need a second chance in life.

We support the right to detoxification and social reintegration.

KETHEA-PAREMVASI is part of a nation-wide network of units of the Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals (KETHEA), one of the greatest organizations for drug detoxification and social reintegration in Greece. Since 1989 KETHEA-PAREMVASI offers drug users a second chance in life by providing full services to overcome addiction and the problems that come along with it. These free and without waiting lists services are intended to lead not only to absolute and definite abstinence from substances and crime but also to individual’s social reintegration on equal terms. The program has a long tradition of social, ecological and cultural interventions which have been designed, developed and implemented by its member in cooperation with municipalities, associations, groups of citizens  and organizations.

This time we intervene in cooperation with Médecins du Monde.

Médecins du Monde-Greece was founded on 1990 and is part of the International network of MdM. At the same time, though, it remains a genuinely Greek organization taking its own path based on circumstances particular to Greece, while maintaining financial and administrative independence. Médecins du Monde have conducted a host of domestic missions within Greece and they support addicts with the program “Streets of Athens”. The “Streets of Athens” program has been conducted consistently for 14 years and is intended to minimize damage and provide primary medical care and psychosocial counseling to substance abusers.

You are all invited to attend the events and participate together with us.
