This initiative began thanks to the efforts of Greeks living in Germany, particularly Mr. Nikolaos Hatzipanagiotidis who resides near Hamburg and who motivated fellow countrymen and also many German citizens and shop owners to assist in the work of Médecins du Monde and in turn aid Greeks and foreigners who reside in Greece that are facing serious livelihood and medical issues. The initiative met with great success in Germany and resulted in the action of the association Norddeutschland-hilft-Griechenland (North Germany assists Greece) which aims to aid in the work of Médecins du Monde.
