Mr. P., aged 85, suffers from chronic lung disease and is one of the regular visitors to the MdM clinic in Folegandros. A few days ago, Mr P. was brought to the clinic by the island’s ambulance following a severe feeling of indisposition. The doctor and the nurse acted immediately. An abdominal ultrasound was performed and a venous catheter was inserted; and after measuring vital signs, oxygen was administered in cooperation with the island’s rural doctor. He was then urgently transferred to Santorini hospital for collection of ascitic fluid and atrial fibrillation. After 10 days of hospitalization, Mr. P. returned to the island in good health.
