President of MdM Greece, Mr. Kanakis and Mr. Stathis Poularakis, Advocacy officer of MdM Greece, had the pleasure to participate today, following a relevant invitation of the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr Nils Muižnieks, on a discussion with other NGOs on the current, most pertinent human rights concerns related to issues pertaining to racist and homophobic extremism.
The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr Nils Muižnieks, is conducting a visit to Greece from 3 to 8 July 2016. The visit will focus on issues pertaining to racist and homophobic extremism, as well as to the impact of austerity measures on the enjoyment of human rights, in particular by persons with disabilities and older persons. The Commissioner wishes also to tackle issues concerning human rights of asylum seekers and immigrants.
