Access to healthcare is becoming increasingly difficult and since December 15th our partners in the field, among them two Central African medical coordinators supported by the organization, have conducted more than 3,000 consultations, 270 antenatal and post-natal consultations and 34 deliveries.
As well as these four camps, MdM is working in numerous health centres supporting the medical staff through the provision of equipment and financial support, guaranteeing free healthcare for patients.
MdM will this week deliver medical and logistic equipment by plane in addition to the 5 tonnes of equipment already sent to Bangui on December 16th. A doctor from the organization will also join the two medical coordinators who are already there.
Given the high risk of potential food and hygiene crises, an immunisation campaign against polio and measles as well as a nutritional screening for children from 6 months to 5 years old will be launched in the coming weeks.
