As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility Program of Ygeia Group, LETO responds considerately to the Non Governmental Organization’s appeal for help. In supporting the efforts of “Médecins du Monde” to provide free primary health care services, LETO offers every month, thirty (30) free Pap Smears, to cover the needs of these women. Pap Smears are send every month to LETO, where they are examined by cytologists, and the results are sent back to volunteer physicians of Médecins du Monde Gynecology Clinics.

Dr Anna Mailli, Chairman of  Médecins du Monde-Greece Board expressed her thanks to LETO Maternity Hospital for their effective response and their substantial support for their efforts and pointed out: “Pap test is one of the most significant preventive examinations for every woman, and that’s what makes the sponsorship on the part of LETO Maternity Hospital, a gift of life. This valuable contribution broadens our ability to provide primary health care services, to which all humans are entitled to. Besides, populations which MdM actions are intended for are individuals who do not have easy access to public Health care services.”

In commending the initiative, the managing Director of LETO Maternity Hospital, Mr. Leonidas Papadopoulos stated: “LETO Maternity Hospital, in its 44 years of existence, has played a leading part in the field of corporate social responsibility and has responded instantly to “Médecins du Monde” appeal. Every woman has the right to Health care services and, in particular, access to cytologic examination (Pap-test), which is critical in the prevention and early diagnosis of cervical cancer. As an Obstetrician- Gynecologist, I would like to take this opportunity to send a message to all women: always remember that Pap-test is an examination of such great importance that can save lives.”
