Médecins du Monde – Greece (MdM-Greece), participated to the proceedings before the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) regarding Greece’s compliance with the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination last Wednesday in Geneva.
Apart from the formal CERD session and NGO briefings, MdM Greece had the chance to participate also to an informal lunch in the form of a Q&A between Committee members and NGO representatives and raise issues regarding the situation of migrants and asylum seekers in Greece, access to health for vulnerable groups and racism and xenophobia in general.
A report with Concluding Observations and Recommendations will be issued by the Committee in the months following the session.
