Doctors of the World Greece’s first mission is in Siret, on the Romanian-Ukrainian border, where every day thousands of people gather and wait in freezing temperatures of -10°C to cross the border and leave their country.
With their Mobile Medical Unit, Doctors of the World remain at the entry point and provide first aid and primary health care to the suffering population experiencing the horrors of war. Women and mothers with their children have left everything behind and are seeking safety away from the war.
The MdM mission delivered the first part of the humanitarian aid of medical supplies collected in Greece to HelpUkraineRomania, which will be immediately distributed for the care and relief of Ukrainian citizens.
With the full support of the Greek Embassy in Bucharest, the mission continues its exploratory activity, recording and evaluating the conditions.
The second mission of Médecins du Monde will start from Athens and will travel to the region in the coming days to deliver additional material.
