MdM Greece, in the context of our immediate response to emergency situations, we assist with all our strengths, supporting our fellow human beings affected by the fires. At the same time, we appeal to those who can help in our work.

Multiple fire are burning out of control across the country, with areas being evacuated and people fleeing their homes. From the first moment the fires broke out, Médecins du Monde Greece has been working with local authorities.

In response to the needs of the fire-affected areas of the country, MdM’s teams go to gathering points and social structures, in order to provide immediate assistance and support to our affected fellow human beings.

MdM’s mobile units with trained professionals consist of a general practitioner, a paediatrician, a nurse, a social worker and administrative staff.

In addition to providing emergency assistance, MdM Greece will also assess the wider needs of the affected areas so that actions will soon be implemented to provide psychosocial and health care to the residents who have suffered from the devastating fires.

MdM is once again there where there is a need for help, wherever people are.
