Médecins du Monde’s fifth shipment of material departed from Greece on Tuesday 12th of April carrying 38 pallets of humanitarian aid for the medical and food needs of the Ukrainian people who continue to suffer from the horrors of war.

The humanitarian aid will arrive at Siret, where the Médecins du Monde team will deliver it to Help Ukraine to support 6 hospitals in the greater Chernivtsi area as well as other areas of increased need.

Médecins du Monde has already collected and distributed more than 50 tons of humanitarian aid, while 35 volunteer doctors and administrators have joined the mission at the Romanian-Ukrainian border to operate a Mobile Medical Unit, providing first aid and medical care to Ukrainian refugees on a daily basis. At the same time, in Greece, Médecins du Monde are hosting in their housing programmes those in need of accommodation, while in their Open Polyclinics in Athens and Thessaloniki they offer psychosocial and material assistance (food kits to cover basic needs). Finally, through the operation of the Help Desk, they serve Ukrainian refugees in need of assistance on a daily basis.

Already counting more than 40 days of continuous action in support of the Ukrainian people, Médecins du Monde will continue their daily interventions for as long as needed.
