Médecins du Monde continues its vaccination campaign, in collaboration with the Greek Ministry of Health, to promote and protect the health of refugee children all over the country. In total, 4.500 vaccinations related to 11 diseases will be given, to children aged 6 weeks to 15 years old, in 12 refugee camps. The action is funded by the European Commission.
This new campaign started on November 21st and will end in mid-December. It concerns refugee and migrant children and is being implemented with scheduled medical visits in the following camps, where MdM operates with an EU funding: Elliniko, Malakasa, Schisto, Katsika, Filippiada, Konitsa, Doliana, Faneromeni, Trikala, Volos, Kavala and Redestos (Vasilika).
A total of 4.500 vaccinations will be given to children aged 6 weeks to 15 years old. They concern 11 diseases: measles, rubella, mumps, pneumonia, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough (pertussis), polio, flu (Haemophilus influenza B), Hepatitis A and B.
Médecins du Monde continues to implement vaccination campaigns, following international standards and the recommendations of the Greek Ministry of Health and the National Committee on Immunization, to meet the basic needs of vulnerable children in the camps.
