Haiti

2010: Emergency humanitarian aid mission in order to deliver medical supplies and provide medical support to the victims of the devastating earthquake that hit the area in January 2010. The medical team of Médecins du Monde in Haiti treated patients through the two healthcare facilities that were operated by the organization, a health center that provided services to 250 to 300 patients per day and a field hospital that consisted of 15 large tents, each tent containing 3 beds. The majority of the cases were injuries and postoperative patients that were referred from the regional hospitals and the health center of MdM – Greece. Finally, MdM – Greece delivered a total of 22 tonnes of medical supplies, which covered the needs of approximately 30,000 patients.
