Greece continues to be one of the entrance points to the European Union for third-country nationals (refugees and migrants). Due to the continuing and constant needs for the provision of primary health care services on the island of Lesvos, Doctors of the World are implementing the project entitledAccess to Primary Health Care (PHC) and Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services for refugees and migrants stranded on Lesvos, which will last until 15/7/2017.

The project aims to sustain and increase access to a comprehensive package of primary health care (PHC) services to the people of concern residing in Lesvos. This will be achieved through the operation of a system that combines static and mobile services, including sexual and reproductive health. These services are provided both in the Refugees and Migrants’ Hospitality Center in Kara Tepe in Lesvos, and through a mobile unit in order to cover the needs of third-country nationals accommodated in urban hosting facilities on the island.

Additional objective of the program is to support the local community of Lesvos in terms of primary health care service.

The project is implemented with the sponsorship of the Swiss Confederation.
