The accommodation center for vulnerable asylum seeking families is situated in the center of Athens and has the capacity to host up to 60 persons. It has hygiene facilities and dormitories and is fully equipped with separate gathering and reception rooms as well as an indoor playground for children. The beneficiaries are inducted into the facility through the national referral system and apart from the housing, the nutrition and the material support they also receive psychosocial support, legal advice and primary healthcare through the nearby Doctors of the World polyclinic.

The personalized intervention according to the needs of each of the guests is of major importance, as is their connection with the public services. Additionally, educative and entertaining activities are held and are open to the adults and the children that are hosted in the center.

From May 1st, 2016 until September 30th, 2016, the accommodation center for vulnerable asylum seeking families is a part of the project “Emergency support to assist most vulnerable migrants stranded in Greece”, which is funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and is realized with the support of the International Organization for Migration.
