Ophthalmological Mobile Unit “IRIS”

Médecins du Monde – Greece provided free of charge ophthalmological examinations throughout Greece, through the project Ophthalmological Mobile Unit IRIS. The project aimed to support patients of all ages, but special care was given to those suffering from diseases that can lead to blindness, such as glaucoma, childhood amblyopia, retinal diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachment, macular diseases, refractive errors etc.
The mobile unit was donated by Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the project was implemented with the support of Novartis.
