Accommodation facility for unaccompanied minors
The accommodation facility for unaccompanied minors of MDM is situated in Athens and can host up to 30 persons. It hosts young boys between 10 and 18 years old in a building with accommodation, hygiene and food service facilities and spaces for educational-recreational activities.The services provided to the unaccompanied minors during their stay at the accommodation facility are:
- Housing, nutrition and provision of the essentials
- Legal support / Information
- Social Counseling
- Psychological Support
- Primary health and medical care, cooperating with other projects/facilities of our Organization
- Helping minors to adapt and integrate within the local social and cultural context
- Organizing educative and recreational events and activities in order to creatively utilize the minors’ leisure time
The accommodation facility for unaccompanied minors from 1 until 31 July 2017 is a part of the “Multi-sectoral Assistance to and Protection of Migrants and Refugees stranded in Greece” project, which is funded by European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations and is implemented in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration.
