Refugees -Urban Intervention
The project “Refugees – Urban Intervention” is implemented by Doctors of the World – Greece in cooperation with the Swiss chapter of Doctors of the World. The aim of this project is to support refugees living in various hosting facilities in the prefecture of Thessaloniki. Assisting other organizations and local authorities, Doctors of the World – Greece offer and facilitate access to free, qualitative healthcare and pharmaceutical assistance for refugees in Northern Greece, residing outside the camps, while aiming to improve their living conditions and contribute to increasing their autonomy. At the same time, this project enhances the operation of the Polyclinic of Thessaloniki, where a big number of beneficiaries is referred to for further specialized treatment. Special attention is given to the more vulnerable groups, such such as pregnant women and children, providing information about sexual and reproductive health, and helping improve pre- and postnatal health.
The project is implemented with the support of the foundation “Swiss Solidarity”
