The scope of the action concerns the planning, organization and provision of health care and psychosocial support to displaced persons and citizens from Ukraine who are seeking International Protection in Greece or granted Temporary Protection status in accordance with the Council of the European Union’s Executive Decision (EU) 2022/382 of 4 March 2022 which establishes the existence of a mass inflow of displaced persons from Ukraine within the meaning of Article 5 of Directive 2001/55/EC and results in the application of temporary protection.

Doctors of the World organizes and operates on a daily basis an integrated and cross-sectoral system of support services focusing on the case management approach, including the individual electronic record of each beneficiary, aiming at the relief and care of displaced persons from Ukraine in Greece.

Trained Social Workers, Psychologists, Doctors, Nurses and Mediators play a key role in the support services system, supporting the direct access of beneficiaries to quality health and psychosocial support services.

The aim of the operation is to serve and cover at least 800 unique beneficiaries living in the wider areas of Attica and Central Macedonia, of which 35% are children and 65% are adults, of which 68% are women and girls and 32% are men and boys.

The Act contributes directly and effectively to the 12/05/2022 Call 4 with ID: 6EH946MTLP-4AK “For the submission and funding of actions to respond to the refugee crisis due to the war in Ukraine, under the Bilateral Relations Fund of the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism for the period 2014-2021 of the Ministry of Development and Investment and the General Secretariat of Public Investment”.

The implementation of the operation includes a series of internal protocols and procedures that aim to implement an integrated system of social support services. The main principles that govern the horizontal service delivery system of the operation are:

a) Respect for diversity, gender, age,

b) Principle of Non-Harm

c) Cooperation with the consent of the beneficiary at all stages of support

d) Community participation

e) Protection of children, persons at risk and vulnerable adults

f) Prevention and protection from exploitation, harassment, abuse

g) Flexibility and adaptation to the objective conditions in the field

 

 

The project is funded by the EEA Grants 2014-2021 through the Hellenic Ministry of Development and Investments. The EEA Grants represent the contribution of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway to a green, competitive, inclusive Europe.
