More specifically, the Pediatric Mobile Unit will visit children, who don’t have easy access to health services due to financial and social constraints, offering the following services:
• free pediatric healthcare, diagnostic tests, dental check-ups and dental care
• free medication: providing free essential medicines for children
• preventive care and health awareness
• vaccination coverage
For the tenth consecutive year Medecins du Monde, with the support of Vodafone, provide free pediatric and dental care, as well as vaccination coverage to an even greater number of children in need. Thanks to the Pediatric Mobile Unit, more than 48.000 children aged 4-12 years, have received the necessary nursing and healthcare in 30 islands and 45 prefectures of Greece.
SKAI’s participation comes to support Vodafone and Medecins du Monde in their many years’ joint effort, with activities scheduled for 15 chosen Municipalities of Attica and Thessaloniki. Their goal is even more children to receive health care and information via the Mobile Unit. The three first visits are scheduled as follows: September 22nd & 23rd – Nikaia, September 29th & 30th – Ilion , October 6th & 7th – Municipality of Ambelokipoi- Menemeni (Thessaloniki).
