Please be reminded that the free vaccination program for children who turn to Médecins du Monde clinic in Perama, was launched in December 2011. The program was intended to address the needs of those children who have been deprived of their fundamental right to healthcare and medication due to the adverse economic conditions. To date, around 700 vaccines have been delivered to the Clinic.
Mr. Nikitas Kanakis, Director of Médecins du Monde Greek board of directors, pointed out: “With the valuable contribution of HYGEIA Group, the solidarity relay race that was first initiated in Perama still carries on. Underprivileged children who have been unfortunate enough not to have health insurance and have been ‘punished’ for this by being deprived of their right to disease prevention, they now have access to basic immunization. In difficult times like these, with the State standing helpless as the fundamental rights of children are being infringed, such initiatives become even more significant. We were able to continue our efforts thanks to HYGEIA Group generous support.”
