Located in the heart of Athens, the Reception Center provides shelter, food, personal care products, legal advice, medical care, psychosocial support, interpreting services, as well as educational services to people who seek asylum in Greece. Hospitality shelter is offered to vulnerable groups of the target population, such as single parent families and vulnerable women.

Médecins du Monde carry out this project in collaboration with the Greek Council for Refugees which provides legal support and representation to asylum seekers. In addition, combined efforts of the Inter cultural Centers Pyxida and Médecins du Monde educational programs are aimed at promoting integration of the target-group, as well as fostering  interculturalism awareness.

With a view to protecting vulnerable population groups, this program aims to increase capacity of the hospitality reception center, enhance the existing services provided and help improve the overall living conditions of asylum seekers in Greece.

Médecins du Monde representatives along with representatives of the Greek Council for Refugees will make a detail presentation of the Reception Center and services provided, while visitors will also be shown around the premises.

* This Project is carried out in the scope of the Program “SOAM – Supporting Organizations that assist migrant asylum seeking population in Greece”, financed by European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) implemented by IOM, Managing Authority of S.O.A.M program.
