Watching the dangerous situation that revolves around long-suffering Syria, the Greek delegation of Médecins du Monde is against any violation of the human right to life and against any conflict, initiated by any side, resulting to the death of civilian populations.
– We appeal to the international community to exhaust any political or diplomatic effort to resolve the problem and we address every side.
– We appeal to avoid blind bombardments that will only lead to a continuing slaughter of civilian population, by any means.
– We appeal to respect the rules of international law for refugees and for the right to provide humanitarian and medical assistance to the affected populations.
– We appeal to the Greek Government to receive protection and assistance measures in favor of Syrian populations who may cross the Greek border.
Médecins du Monde – Greece declare that our Polyclinics in the large cities of the country as well as our immediate intervention teams, that are already formed for the reception of refugees in Chios and Mytilene, provide and will keep providing any possible assistance to the Syrian refugees, with medicines, food, psychological, material and medical support.
We declare that we will intensify our efforts and will continue to be at the side of those who need us… Wherever There Are People.
