Standing by the side of the fire affected people

Médecins du Monde with their mobile units go to the areas devastated by the wildfires, in order to provide medical and psychological care to fire-affected people.

The first mission, with the cooperation of the 5th Health Region of Thessaly and Central Greece, consisting of a general practitioner, pediatrician, social worker, two psychologists and three physiotherapists, is already in Evia. First stop of the mission is the Health Centre of Istiaia, and then, in close cooperation with the local authorities, the team will head to the villages of the region in need. The second mission will head to the wider region of Ilia.

The aim of these missions, apart from providing emergency assistance, is to assess needs so that actions can soon be implemented to provide ongoing medical and psychosocial care to the people affected by the devastating fires.

Showing their active support, the MdM teams are once again wherever help is needed, wherever people are.there where there is a need for help, where there are people.
