“Some things can be seen only through the eyes of the soldiers. Only the soldiers know how they look like… Just them and their beloved persons who await their return…”

The story is based on the Japanese fairytale Tsuki no Waguma, “The Crescent Moon Bear”. By means of innovative shadow play techniques, an improvised model manual projector, live electronic music and narration, we travel back to the trench warfare and its irreversible consequences.

“The Girl Who Wanted To Touch the Crescent” is a fairytale about bereavement, life and death, love and heartache as well as the adventurous journey of a little child who longs to save her father’s soul.

“The Girl Who Wanted to Touch the Crescent” will help you let go, set your thoughts aside and drift off into something real, genuine, innocent, beautiful and candid…
